Walk for Water

Our students did a fantastic job donating to our great cause of the Walk for Water campaign. Thanks to all the generous donations, our school raised $2825.00 which means that 113 people will have clean water for life. We are so proud of our school community.

Folk Dance Festival

11 of our junior students have been practising faithfully for the last 5 months to prepare for the Folk Dance Festival on May 9th at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. The Folk Dance festival is the longest-running sport in the history of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and it is not a competition, but rather invites all the schools in each family of schools to come together to dance. The girls will dance 5 dances that are heritage dances, as well as a modern dance. The girls hard work is paying off and they are dancing well.

Mud Puppy Chase

On Sunday May 6, 40 students volunteered to participate in the Mud Puppy Chase at the University of Waterloo. This event is an opportunity to engage in physical activity, and become community aware by raising funds for an important cause – KidsAbility Centre for Child Development in Waterloo (a centre that helps children with special needs realize their full potential).

At the school level, we have been taking some time during the lunch hours over the last several weeks to practice for this event by gradually developing our endurance for this 600m, 3k or 5k running race.

Thank you, on behalf of KidsAbility, to these students and their families for their support and raising $2100.  If you are available to encourage us on May 6, please join us. We look forward to our day of friendship and fun!!
