Report Cards and Re-opening of School Survey

Hello Star Families,

As you know we are in our final week of the 2019-2020 school year. Report card distribution will be a little different this year as we will be mailing them to your home.

Click HERE to read an important message from the Director of Education, Loretta Notten on the re-opening of schools in September.

Please take a few minutes of your time to complete WCDSBs “School Re-opening Survey” that can be found HERE. The survey will remain open until June 30th. Only one survey to be completed per family. There are translations available of the survey – accessible through the top right of the page when you open the survey.

June Updates

Hello Star Families,

Happy JUNE! It’s hard to believe that we are now in the final month of the school year. Things will look a little different as we end this unprecedented year so please read this note in its entirety to know what to expect.

Our support staff are spreading their positivity by painting kindness rocks and we would love to see your creativity and kindness shown by doing the same. Paint some rocks and share a picture with your teacher. Put the rocks in the community where people will see them and smile.

We are currently working on a plan for students to be able to get their belongings that are in the school. We are also determining how library books and textbooks will be returned. We will let you know when we have finalized the details but rest assured, everyone will get their belongings back before the end of the school year. The Board is working with the Ministry and Public Health to ensure a safe plan is in place.

All students will receive a report card before the end of the school year. We will confirm more details once they are finalized.

The only students who will be required to return Chromebooks at this time are our grade eight students and any students who are leaving our school board. Your teachers will be in contact with further details.

Mabel’s Labels is providing face masks for both adults (size 14+) and children (size 3-14 yrs) to help stop the spread of Covid-19. With the purchase of a Mabel’s Labels mask, you will help support St. Aloysius, as a portion of the proceeds will go directly back to our school. Mabel’s Labels also offers a variety of other products. Visit this link to support St. Aloysius.
Mask Details: Non-medical grade mask, lightweight, soft ear loops and adjustable nose piece. Available in a variety of different designs.
Three layers of fabric: inner layer (keeps skin dry and comfortable), middle layer (prevents particles and droplets from contacting the face), outer layer (prevents particles and droplets from entering the mask)

Our goal is to finish the school year strong. Next week we will be sharing a wellness board to promote our STARS to be active, healthy and happy. We encourage you to continue to connect with your child’s teacher and maintain those important relationships. Send us pictures and videos and share good news stories ( We miss all our STARS so much and can’t wait to see you all again!

Have you seen the HOPE sign in front of the school?

Stay safe,

Ms. Foote and Ms. Butson
