National Sweater Day at St. Aloysius is February 6th

National Sweater Day is an event organized by the World Wildlife Fund that began 10 years ago.

We will celebrate it at St. Al’s on February 6th this year. The heat will be turned down one degree and everyone is encouraged to dress warmly in a sweater.

This helps us save a small amount of energy that day, but the mail goal is to talk about the importance of everyday energy conservation in order to decrease pollution.

Registration for September 2020 will be held at St. Aloysius School on, Tuesday, February 4, 2020 and Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Registration will be by appointment on these two days, some evening appointments will be available. Please call the school to schedule an appointment at 519-893-5830.

If you wish to register online prior to your appointment, you can access the Online Registration form by clicking on the Register for School link on the WCDSB homepage ( and then choosing Kindergarten Registration. The link to Online Registration can be found under the Registration Options button alternatively you can open your browser and enter

The mother, father or legal guardian of the child being registered for Junior Kindergarten or Kindergarten is asked to be present during registration. The following will be required: a birth certificate or other legal proof of your child’s age, and a Catholic Baptismal Certificate of either parent or child.

The child who is being registered is welcome to visit the school at the time of registration.

The Law, (The Immunization of School Pupils Act, 1982) states that the Waterloo Regional Health Department must have a record of your child’s immunization in order to attend school in Ontario. Please submit the information to Public Health via:

Parents are encouraged to arrange a visit to a family physician for a hearing and vision screening prior to the child’s entry to school.

Children with special needs (i.e., speech and language impaired, visually impaired, hearing impaired, intellectually challenged, etc.) should register in the school in their home area.
